What an epic fail, first homework given to me and I forget to complete it… Sorry Sue, here are the answers to the questions you posted.

Love the site! A couple of things…
DV PAL is 25fps (29.97 is NTSC)
Exporting using square pixels (1.0) aspect ratio from say Photoshop means that your original file will be created at 1024 x 576 (16:9) (1.0 ) or 768 x 576 (4:3) (1.0)
Because DV PAL is 720 x 576 (1.067 pixel aspect ratio) 4:3 or 720 x 576 (1.422 pixel aspect ratio) 16:9, when it comes into a NLE program like Premiere using DV PAL settings, it will apply the non-square pixel aspect ratio. So to be sure that your images are not distorted, you’ll need to export them out of Flash or Photoshop or as a numbered tif sequence in Maya with the square aspect ratio image size. Having said that, you can always use the ‘conform footage’ option in Premiere but it still may distort it beyond what you’d find acceptable.
