Here are two small thumbnails on the planned layout / composition of my Giger tribute piece. Still undecided as to which layout I prefer -

Spartan Helmet Layout

Here is the final beauty layout & sculpt of the Halo Spartan Helmet, I wanted the still shot to represent a somewhat advertisement look and feel, possible used as a game promotion piece.

Still very much in the beginning stages of Zbrush competence, but this will have to do for my first piece. Cheers

Update – Polishing up the jaw and ear guards with more detail and new subtool. could not have done this in mudbox, would have had to go back into maya as easily.

concept breakdown into subtools

My first ever Zbrush Sculpt! This is the result of around 9 hours of fumbling around in Zbrush, the interface definitely takes getting used to – so many buttons, sliders and knobs :) Useds mostly the planar. clipping, trimming and standard brushes.
First impressions of Zbrush is the mesh can hold detail better then Mudbox and the beauty of subtools to combine / slice / import meshes is a great work flow.
